Zhu Yafen Obituary, Death – I am writing to inform you of the passing of Professor Zhu Yafen, who was my most cherished teacher. It is with a heavy heart that I write to inform you of his passing. I ask that you please accept my deepest condolences. It is difficult for me to accept the news of her passing, and as a direct result of this, I do not know how to begin expressing the depth of my sorrow at this very moment. I find it difficult to accept the news of her passing. I am sorry.
Professor Zhu has contributed an incalculable number of musical ideas to the world over the course of her 94 years on it. The number of ways in which she has contributed to the field is truly endless. Professor Zhu has been my instructor ever since I can remember the very beginning of my educational career. Not only was she the most considerate and selfless teacher I’ve ever had, but she also knew me better than anyone else I’ve ever had. She was the most inspiring and helpful instructor I’ve ever had.
She not only enlightened me, but she also led me along each and every one of the roads that I traveled throughout my life. Her influence was invaluable to me. Not only did she instruct me in the art of playing the piano, but she was also the member of my family with whom I had the closest relationship and the person whom I adored more than anybody else on the face of the earth. I will be eternally grateful to her because she was there for me whenever I needed her support, especially during the times in my life when it mattered the most.
I pray that you will be able to listen to my music in heaven and that it will be a way for me to communicate with you there. I also hope that you will be able to hear it. I hope that you will be able to feel it even in heaven, Professor Zhu, because I will miss you very much. Because of the enlightened spirit you exude and the sound advice you offer, I will always look to you for direction because you are an excellent source of information.
