Xander Yelmene Obituary, Death – We were made aware of the unexpected demise of one of our most cherished hockey players today, and it breaks our hearts to have to inform you of all of this horrible news. We are very sorry for what has happened. He will be greatly missed by all of us. Yesterday evening, Xander Yelmene left the building in order to escape the terrible medical emergency that he had been coping with. This emergency had been going on for some time. This was a direct result of the situation that had occurred.
Xander was the kindest and most good-natured person you could ever hope to meet, and this trait served him well both on and off the ice. He was a pleasure to be around in any situation. Simply being in his company was a wonderful experience. He was a true friend to each and every one of his teammates over the course of the years, was well-liked by each and every one of his coaches, and so many of us cheered on him year after year. In the span of his career, he was on the baseball team. He remained a member of the squad over the course of several years. He honored us with his presence right up to the day he passed away, and throughout his entire life, he exhibited a consistent and admirable sense of sportsmanship.
Xander was a very creative individual, and those of us who had the honor of being able to call him a friend will never stop being inspired by the originality and passion with which he tackled life. His family asks that you remember them in your prayers and keep them in your thoughts during this trying time as they struggle to make sense of the incomprehensible loss that they have suffered. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers as they try to make sense of what has happened to them. I am appreciative of the fact that you have given this matter your consideration.
In recognition of the number 88, we would want for each of you to keep one of your sticks a secret from the other members of the group this evening. Xander, each and every one of us in this room is going to miss you very much and cannot wait to see you again.
