Susan Shaw Obituary, Death – The investigation into the chain of events that led up to this tragedy is still being carried out by the Carmel Police Department. According to the results of our early investigation, it would appear that this incident was either a murder or an unsuccessful attempt at suicide. There is a strong possibility that Mr. John Shaw shot and killed Mrs. Susan Shaw, his wife, before turning the gun on himself. After the mishap, Mr. John Shaw was taken to the hospital immediately following the crisis, and he is still receiving medical attention there for the wounds he sustained.
A shot has been reported, and the Carmel Police Department has responded.
On the morning of Saturday, November 12, 2022, at about 8:24 a.m., officers from the Carmel Police Department responded to a welfare check that had been requested in the 700 block of Johnson Drive. When the police arrived, they discovered that Susan Shaw, age 63, had passed away and that John Shaw, age 79, was suffering from what appeared to be a gunshot wound that he had inflicted on himself. Both members of the Shaw family were discovered in the same residence.
Since Mr. Shaw’s wounds required immediate medical attention, he was transported in an ambulance to a nearby hospital for treatment. It is believed that this incident was an isolated one, and the Carmel Police Department has no reason to believe that there is now a threat to the broader public at this time.
