Stoney Powdermaker Obituary, Death – Harold “Stoney” W. Stone, who resided in Durand and was 92 years old at the time of his passing on September 30, 2022, was taken to the McLaren-Flint Hospital for treatment. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Durand Eagles on October 8, 2022, at three o’clock in the afternoon. This event is scheduled to take place on Saturday. At this time, the necessary arrangements are being handled by Watkins Brothers Funeral Homes, Durand Chapel. This responsibility has been given to them. On January 16, 1930, in the town of Durand, Edwin and Verna (Ferguson) Stone became parents for the first time.

Their son Harold William Stone was born into this world. On May 30, 1953, he wed his bride, Lorraine Steel. The ceremony took place. During the time that he spent serving in the military, Harold was a member of the United States Army Airborne 457. In the city of Durand, he was a member of the Eagles Club, the American Legion, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, and the AMVETS. Some of Harold’s favorite hobbies included playing golf and bowling, shooting pool, and watching the Detroit Tigers play baseball and the Detroit Lions play football. Before calling it quits after a career spanning 33 years, he was employed by General Motors Fisher Body 1 throughout his entire tenure there.

Harold is survived by his wife, Lorraine Stone; children, Diane (Dan) Money, Daniel (Susie) Stone, Carolyn (Leonard) Dora, and Debbie Armbrustmacher; grandchildren, Toni Blankenship, Brian Frankovich, Leara Garner, Melissa Dora, Aaron Allen, Krystal Herrandez-Castelan, Erik Stone, and Andrea Thompson; a large number of great grandchildren; great great grandchildren; along with other nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Harold passed His maternal grandparents Lee and Verna Stone, his paternal grandparents Lee and Verna Stone, his brothers Stewart and Bob Stone, his sister Beatrice, his granddaughter Ami Renshaw, and his son-in-law Dale Armbrustmacher all passed away before he did. Beatrice, who was his wife, is the only person he leaves behind.
