Samuel Rios Obituary, Death – On Tuesday, Samuel Rios passed away peacefully, without having had any discomfort or agony. On January 12, 1951, he was born in Yorktown, Texas, to his parents, the late Sixto Chavez Rios and Angelita Chavez Rios. Both of his parents passed away before he was born. “Su pasión eran los gallos, sentarse junto a su estanque, y pasar el tiempo con familiares y amigos.”

Sammy is survived by his wife of 50 years, Emma H. Rios; their daughters Lisa Aragon (Jay) and Mary Rios; their son, Samuel Rios, Jr.; and their grandson, Joe Mendoza, V, whom Emma and Sammy brought up as if he were one of their own children. In addition, he leaves behind eight grandkids and fifteen great-grandchildren who were his children’s children.

All of his immediate family members, including his parents, daughter Melissa Rios, sisters Delfina Alvarez and Adelina Garza, brothers Ernesto Rios and Eliseo Rios, and daughter-in-law Melissa Villarreal, went away before he did. His wife Melissa Rios and son Ernesto Rios Jr. are the ones who will carry on after him.

Visitation will be held at the Colonial Funeral Home on Sunday from 5 pm to 7 pm, and the saying of the rosary will begin at 7 pm. Both events will take place on Sunday. At Colonial Funeral Home on Monday, visitation will pick up where it left off at 9 am, and the funeral service will begin at 10 am. Both events are scheduled to take place on Monday.

Following the funeral services, the burial will take place at 12:15 p.m. in the San Luis Community Cemetery, which is situated close to Yorktown in the state of Texas. Pallbearers are going to be Robert Munoz, Joe Garcia, Felix Reyes, Juan Tenorio, Reynaldo Estrada, and Jorge Rivera, while honorary pallbearers are going to be Joe Mendoza V, Homer Hinojosa, Jay Adames, Alex Rios, and Eugenio Rios.
