Ross Comerford Obituary, Death – Ross Comerford, 83, died on November 19th, 2022, we regret to inform you. Despite his brief cancer battle, his generosity and kindness to his family, friends, and community members will be remembered. He was born in Almonte on July 4, 1940, to the late Arthur Comerford and Roxa (Boughner) of Carleton Place, and he is survived by two devoted sisters, Thelma and Ruth (Allan) Flinn. Marilyn Elliott, Ross’s sister-in-law, and Gerald Clement, his brother-in-law, both admired and respected him.

Ross has spent his entire life working for the Municipality of Mississippi Mills as a mechanic, truck driver, and other duties as needed. He was a decorated Captain with the Almonte Fire Department, where he had served as a volunteer for the past 30 years to keep his community safe. He was also a founding member of The Almonte Fish and Game Association during this time, where he worked tirelessly for over 40 years to conserve local wildlife.

Numerous youth and conservation programs are sponsored and supported by this club. Ross’s passion for hunting and fishing was evident in shared stories, meals, and laughter. Ross is certain that he and Daisy will spend their afterlife together, unrestricted by time and space, pursuing their dreams. Mitch and Jennifer Willows (Rodney) will miss him terribly (Marie LeClaire). Derrick Hope (Chantal Seguin), Keriann Kenney (David Kenney), Kaitland Comerford (Aaron Bowden), Paige Comerford (Justin Lacourse), and Cole Comerford will remember him.

Ross was overjoyed to be Emmitt and Blake Hope’s great-grandfather, as well as Jaylin, Wendel, and Donovan Kenney and Harrison Bowden. His many nieces and nephews will remember and cherish him.
C.R Gamble Funeral Home and Chapel will handle the arrangements. Friends and family are invited to pay their respects on Friday, November 25th, from 2:00pm to 4:00pm and 6:00pm to 8:00pm. On Saturday, November 26th, there will be a final visiting hour from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., followed by a service. Following that, he will be laid to rest at Clayton’s Guthrie United Cemetery.
From 1:00pm to 4:00pm, everyone is invited to the Almonte Civitan Hall to celebrate.
