Roslyn Carney Obituary, Death – I’m sure you’ll all share in my sorrow at hearing that Mrs. Roslyn Carney died away on Wednesday. On Thursday, Mrs. Carney suffered from a heart episode, which led to other catastrophic health concerns. She passed away as a result. Roslyn was a kind and giving person who had a genuine concern for the health and happiness of her pupils. During her 20 years of teaching at Laurel Elementary, Hot Springs Elementary, Madison Middle School, and Brush Creek Elementary, she was a fervent supporter of the literary arts as well as other creative endeavors.
She put forth an incredible amount of effort into the music program that she was in charge of, and most recently, she worked as the Media Center Coordinator at Brush Creek Elementary. She was a very talented educator who showered her pupils with love and never stopped looking for ways to improve the quality of their education and make it more interesting. There was never a time when Mrs. Carney was not promoting the common good in her school and community, as well as sharing her friendship and her resilience with her coworkers.
Relatively recently, Mrs. Carney’s principal, Susan Jackson, shared with me that Mrs. Carney left behind “sprinkles of love” wherever she went. Through her, just as through other colleagues we have lost so quickly and brutally, there shone a deeper love that made this educational system, as well as our planet, more beautiful. On this day, we would like to express our sincere gratitude to people with gentle and modest spirits, such as Roslyn Carney, who are part of our inner circle of friends and family and provide us with shelter and solace, much like the shade of a sturdy tree, as we travel the path of life.
Our friend and colleague is leaving us, but we are grateful for the time that we were able to spend with her in spite of how brief it was.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Mrs. Carney’s family, the Brush Creek Bear family, and all of Roslyn’s many friends, coworkers, and anyone who cared about her throughout this difficult time. The funeral arrangements will be communicated to you as soon as we get them. Every every day is a gift from God.
