Robert Perkins Obituary, Death – Mr. Robert “Billy” Perkins, who had reached the age of 77 at the time of his passing, passed away at the North Mississippi Medical Center in West Point on the 21st of November, 2022. His funeral was held the following day. On December 26, 1944, Billy Melvin Perkins made his debut into the world in Greenwood, South Carolina. He was given the names Robert Melvin, in honor of his late father, and Maggie Perkins, in honor of his late mother. Robert Melvin had been gone for some time by that point.

There is still one living sister, and her name is Linda Hazzard. She is the only sister. Currently, she resides in Cedar Bluff with her family, which consists of John, her husband, and their children. There are three generations of Hazzard women in this family: Maggie Hazzard, Madelyn McDonald, and John Allen Hazzard, Jr., who is married to Michelle Cagle and has a nephew named John Allen Hazzard, Jr. In addition to that, there is a great-uncle who goes by the name of John Allen Hazzard.

Billy was a dedicated employee of the Clay County Sheriff’s Department for more than 25 years, during which time he worked his way up through the ranks to become Chief Deputy. He enjoyed going fishing in his spare time and would often do so. He was a devoted member of the New Montpelier Baptist Church, where he attended every single one of the church’s Sunday services without fail. When she passed away, his niece Kimberly Faye Hazzard followed in the footsteps of both of his parents by becoming the third member of his family to join the afterlife after he and his wife.

The New Montpelier Baptist Church will be the location of the visitation that will take place on the afternoon of Saturday, December 3, 2022, from one to two o’clock in the afternoon. The time of this event has been determined to be in the afternoon. In the aftermath of the viewing, at two o’clock in the afternoon, there will be a Memorial Service that Brother Jerry King will preside over.
