┬áRobert Hough Obituary, Death – We are saddened to tell you that Robert Hough has died away; please know that you and your family are in our thoughts and prayers as you go through this challenging time. He had been a respected and treasured member of our community for a very significant amount of time prior to his passing. After the Land Trust took ownership of the location, Robert joined the group of volunteers that did work at Fort Burgoyne and eventually became one of the group’s founding members. Not only was he instrumental in exposing the location that had been hidden by overgrown vegetation, but he was also instrumental in making the area accessible to the general public by guiding guided tours and providing support for other site events.

Fort Burgoyne, which has recently reopened its doors to the general public, is currently serving as the setting for a diverse assortment of events and activities.

Robert participated in the community archaeology dig that was being carried out in the West Wing because he wanted to contribute to uncovering the site’s buried history. The dig was being led by the West Wing Preservation Society. The West Wing was where the excavation was taking place. Because of the exacting attention to detail that he possesses, it was decided that he would be the one to be tasked with the responsibility of proofreading the information book that had been written about the location. Everyone associated with the Fort is keeping his family in their thoughts and prayers as they go through this trying time. Everyone is keeping them in their thoughts and prayers right now.
