Robbie Lucas Obituary, Death – Robbie Lucas, who passed away recently, was the head football coach of the Briar Jumper football team. The team recently lost their leader. Kyle Lively, the superintendent of Somerset Independent Schools, confirmed the death of one of his colleagues in a statement that was released to the public first thing on Monday morning.

In the name of the Somerset Independent School System and the entire Somerset Community, we express our deepest condolences at the passing of Coach Robbie Lucas. Not only was Coach Lucas an outstanding football coach, but he was also an excellent educator and an even better person.

Coach Lucas was always willing to put the needs of others before his own, and he was always willing to make countless sacrifices to ensure that his players, coaches, and students were successful. Robbie’s impact on the lives of those who were fortunate enough to know him was immeasurable, and the legacy he leaves behind in the form of talented players and students will endure for many years to come.

Our thoughts and prayers are with his wife Nicole, his daughters Molly and Maddie, and the rest of his family. We are thinking of and praying for them. A wonderful man who was also an outstanding football coach has passed away, and the world is poorer for his passing. The team will suffer a significant blow as a result of losing Coach Lucas. We are keeping his wife Nicole, his daughters Molly and Maddie, and the rest of his family in our prayers. Also included in these prayers is the rest of his family.

The Briar Jumpers were led by Lucas throughout the 2019 season, during which they won the state championship for Class 2A. This is the very first and only time in the entire history of the school’s athletic program that it has ever been able to claim victory at the state championship level. He served as the head coach of the Somerset high school varsity team for a total of 14 seasons, during which time he was responsible for overseeing the program.
