Richard Berry Obituary, Death -Richard Lawrence Berry, Honorable We are saddened to inform you that Richard Lawrence Berry (Fort Erie, Ontario) died on November 17, 2022. We share the news of his death with you with great sadness. He was born on November 8, 1949, in Toronto, but spent the majority of his childhood in Fort Erie with his parents, Richard and Lucy. Dale Metcalfe-Berry, his wife; his children, Kathie, Charlotte, and Joseph (Jeongmi); his siblings, Gordon (Bonnie) Berry and Janis (Bob) Fretz; Karen Robinson, his friend and mother of his children; and a large number of cousins, nieces, nephews, step-family, and friends will remember him fondly.

On February 1, 2019, he died. Richard will be remembered for his fiery personality, unwavering determination, the perfectionist nature of his work as an excavation company owner, his love of our community and 12 years as a town councillor, his wild antics, and his love of a good party and Labatt’s Blue. He’ll be remembered for his wild antics, as well as his love of a good party and Labatt’s Blue. Cremation has taken place, and a memorial service will be held at the Ridgeway Lions Club Hall on January 7, 2023, at 3 p.m. (Crystal Ridge Arena building). Following a brief service, there will be a celebration until the early morning hours, complete with food, drinks, music, and euchre.

We’d appreciate it if you could come tell us your stories, whether they’re crazy, funny, or one of the rare calm ones. Richard’s ideal situation would have him propped up with a beer in his hand, similar to an old Irish wake. We are confident that he will be present in spirit with us, and the rest is up to us. We are looking forward to seeing each and every one of you there. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Richard’s name can be made to the Fort Erie SPCA.
