The collision only involved one car. The bodies of both victims were discovered at the location where the accident occurred.

Both victims were found to be deceased from their injuries when authorities arrived at the scene of the accident. Ricardo Leyva Jr., who had his roots in Midland, Texas, did not survive the accident and was pronounced dead at the scene of the tragedy. He was 25 years old. He was a Midland, Michigan native. According to the Midland Police Department, Danel Leyva, 18, who is also from Midland, was the only passenger, and after being transported to a hospital, he was taken to a hospital in a critical condition.
