Maxwell Pastor Obituary, Death – Maxwell Scott Pastor “Max” died on November 13th, 2022. At the moment, he was 27 years old. Max graduated from high school in 2014 and will graduate from Auburn University in 2019. Max enjoyed going on outings. Some people dip their toes in the water and inquire, “”How does the water feel to you?” “Hell yeah!” exclaimed Max as he ran ahead and plunged from a precipice “as one descends He enjoyed fishing, camping, and kayaking with friends and family. Off the coast of Florida, he kayaked with a sailfish. When alligator hunting, he dove into Lake Seminole to harpoon an alligator that could not be reached by boat. He enjoyed rowing in St. Simons Island’s backwaters and was an excellent clammer and crabber.

Max enjoyed traveling. One of his fondest recollections was a trip to Asia, Africa, and Europe with excellent company and endless adventures. In many ways, he was brave for leaving with no one and returning four months later with a swarm of new companions. Max was an excellent cook (though those who had to clean up after him in the kitchen would disagree), specialized in Asian cuisine but always presenting what he felt was a well-plated feast. He liked to eat, drink, and socialize. He valued collaborating with others. He grew up on Battleview Drive, near Peachtree Creek, where he ran, fished, and played with old childhood friends; in high school, he was a state championship finalist and an exciting opponent for Woodward Academy and Circle W.

He found his team at Auburn’s Sig Ep fraternity, and he appreciated working as part of a group. He was a passionate Auburn and Atlanta Falcons fan. He loved his family and family gatherings. He formed a family fantasy football team and organized a friendly tournament. Scott and Paige Pastor, Grady and Cricket Pastor, grandparents Jerry and Diana Pickett, Christa Pickett, Eleanor Pastor, aunts and uncles Michel Pastor and Sandy Engelke, Robert Pastor, Mark and Liza Pickett, cousins Cole Engelke, Mary Thomas Pickett Tiller (Gary), Sally Pickett Nash (Ryan), Mills Pickett Sutton (Joiner), and Mark will all greatly miss him. Before he was born, his grandfather, Robert Pastor, aunt Peggy Pastor, and beloved dog Gumbo all died.

A memorial service will be held at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 4465 Northside Drive NW, Atlanta, GA 30327, on Saturday, November 19th, at 1:00 p.m. From noon to 1 p.m., the family will greet friends and family at the church, followed by a celebration at their home following the ceremony.
