Maureen Rose Obituary, Death – Maureen Rose (March 1, 1980–November 9, 2022)
Quizzy, or Maureen Rose Bigsky, passed away at the age of 42 in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, when she was peacefully sleeping and resting in her sleep. Her nickname was Quizzy. On March 1, 1980, in the community of Lestock, Saskatchewan, Catherine Bigsky and Arnold “Kujo” Desjarlais became parents for the first time when their daughter Maureen entered the world. Her predecessor was her father, Arnold “Kujo” Desjarlais, who passed away before she did. Family members included Special Cousin Delbert (Kenneth) Pelletier, Sister Sylvia Bigsky and Brother Virgil Bigsky, Paternal Grandparents Lawrence Desjarlais and Josephine Pelletier, and Brother Virgil Bigsky.

Maternal Grandparents George Bigsky and Louisa Bigsky (Sayer). Grandparents on the maternal side were Josephine Pelletier and Lawrence Desjarlais. Aunts are thought to be Freda Favel, Selina Wajunta, Dorothy Pelletier, and Evelyn Pelletier. Evelyn Pelletier is Freda Favel’s sister. Uncles: Joe Desjarlais, John Desjarlais, Pete Desjarlais, Alfred Bigsky & Kenneth Bigsky Sr.

The only people who will remember her are her mother, Catherine Bigsky, and her two sons, Royce Bigsky and Cole Severight. Her partner: Lloyd Severight. The names Elizabeth, Clayton (also known as Carol), Arnold (also known as Pam), and Joseph (also known as Danielle) are all used interchangeably in this family (Dion). In addition to this, Maureen is survived by a sizable number of nieces and nephews, as well as by her God Father, Calvin Pelletier, and by her Special-Friend, Ryan Cheekinew.

The news of her departure will undoubtedly bring devastating sorrow to a great number of individuals. Maureen will be remembered in the field of health care for her tireless efforts and unyielding dedication to the profession. She worked as a care-aid at the St. Joseph’s Integrated Care Center in Lestock, Saskatchewan, for a period of ten years. During that time, she helped patients at the center.

A wake in accordance with local custom is scheduled to take place at the Lestock, Saskatchewan Town hall on Thursday, November 17, 2022 at four o’clock in the afternoon. A funeral service is scheduled to take place on the 18th of November, 2022, at eleven in the morning. When Maureen eventually passes away, her body will be laid to rest at the Muskowekwan First Nation Cemetery.
