Mark DeAnda Obituary, Death – We regret to inform you that on November 12, 2022, Dr. Mark Steven De Anda, DDS, of Pearland, Texas, passed away. Mark lost his battle with the disease and died. Though he was given a new set of lungs, his body was unable to bear the shock and he passed away gently, going to be with our Beloved Lord and Blessed Mother Mary, whom he adored and deeply loved. We can be sure that his mother Raquel welcomed him. Mark had a strong commitment to the Catholic Church and was a devout follower of his religion.
To Abelardo and Raquel De Anda in El Paso, Texas, Mark was born on February 12, 1963. One of five siblings, he was. He attended Coronado High School, where he received his diploma. Mark studied at the University of Texas at El Paso and received his Biology degree there. Following his time at St. Edwards, he went on to complete his study at the Dental School at the University of Texas Health Sciences Center in San Antonio, where he graduated in 1991. Before being sick, Mark practiced for more than 30 years. He had a passion for dentistry, his patients, and assisting others. Particularly for his kindness and his sense of humor, his staff adored and appreciated him.
Mark was a sports and outdoor enthusiast. He loved swimming in his pool and working in his yard. Mark enjoyed taking risks, exploring new places, and collecting abstract art. He cherished Latin Masses and the FSSP. Despite the language barrier, Mark met the love of his life, Kenia, and they fell in love. They wed on November 23, 2013, at Mater Dei in Irving, Texas, following a protracted courtship. The happiest day of Mark’s life, he claimed. Nevertheless, they never had nephews as children. Mark admired his wife and always remarked on how she made him complete and how lucky he was to have her in his life.
Raquel L. De Anda, Mark’s mother, died before him; he is survived by his devoted wife Kenia. He is survived by his father, Abelardo De Anda Sr., sister, Cindy Reza, and brothers David De Anda, Dr. Abe De Anda Jr., and James De Anda, all of whom reside in El Paso (Las Vegas). His goddaughters Jennifer L. De Anda (El Paso) and Marlisa S. De Anda admired and cherished him (Dallas). All of his nieces, nephews, family, and coworkers will miss him dearly.
