Maria Picanso Obituary, Death -Picanso, Maria Fátima LOWELL Maria Fátima (Bettencourt) Picanso, who was 79 years old at the time of her death in 2022 in Lowell, Massachusetts, passed away. She was married to her current husband, Isolino M. Picanso, for a total of 46 years.
Her parents, Orlando Espinola and Georgina E. (DaSilva) Bettencourt, brought her into the world on April 13, 1943 in Graciosa, Azores. She was named after the island where she was born.
The Azores were where she spent her childhood and received her primary education. She was 20 years old when she first arrived in the United States, and she immediately went to stay with friends in Lowell. She was the first member of her family to move from Graciosa to Lowell, which is where she currently resides. Graciosa is where she previously lived. After Isolino had finished her service in the military on Graciosa, she went back to her home island. After getting married in Graciosa in 1966 and moving to Lowell shortly afterward, the couple began raising a family in Lowell.
She was a regular at Saint Anthony’s Church in Lowell, where she had been going for a very long time. Both crocheting and spending time with her family were activities that she looked forward to. After hearing that her husband had been diagnosed with cancer in 2004, she and her husband uprooted their lives and moved to Jacksonville, Florida. This move was in response to the news that her husband had been diagnosed with cancer. Her loved ones, her friends, and those she knew from her time in Northwood will all be saddened by her passing.
The only people who have survived her are Elizabeth Smith, Goretti Vongsiprasom, Lisa Barone, and Jay Adie. Melinda Picanso of Lowell and her sister Brenda Picanso of Amesbury; their children Ricky, Christine, Erick, Timothy, Megan, Stephanie, Brittany, Haley, Steven; Brandon, Ruben, Devin, Aliah, Javian, and Adriana; Jordan, Jaida, Jamison, Emma, Cameron, Abby, Mason, Avery, and Aiden; and their grandchildren Mason, Avery, and Aiden; and their great-grandchildren Jordan, Arcelinda Silva, who lives in Dracut, Manuel Bettencourt and his wife Ilda, who live in Hampton, New Hampshire, Helio Bettencourt, who lives in Nashua, New Hampshire, and Daniel Bettencourt, who lives in Lancaster, are the surviving members of this family.
