Lou Kotsopoulos Obituary, Death – Mrs. Kotsopoulos, who was 84 years old at the time of her passing, passed away on Sunday at Lowell General Hospital. In Saint Louis, Missouri, on June 23, 1932, Kotsopoulos was brought into the world. Both of her parents, Emanuel and Maria Leontsinis, had already passed away before the birth of their daughter. She went to Southwest High School and Fontbonne University to get her education and eventually acquired a Bachelor of Science degree from both institutions. Her formative years were spent in St. Louis, where she also received her schooling.

As a Therapeutic Dietician, she worked at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis for over twenty years. Her tenure there spanned a significant portion of the hospital’s history. In 1973, Kotsopoulos was attending a Greek Convention in Dallas, Texas, when she first met Ernie, the man who would later become her husband. Since that time, the two people have been in a relationship, and they are celebrating their 44th wedding anniversary this year. Kotsopoulos was a contributing member of Saint Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church in Andover throughout his time there. She was a member of the church Ladies Philoptochos Society in Andover, in addition to the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church in Lowell, where she was the secretary for many years. Both of these churches are located in Lowell. These two places of worship can be found in Lowell.

She managed to find time to volunteer at the Andover Chapter of the American Cancer Society, despite the fact that spending time with her family was the activity that she looked forward to the most. Before Kotsopoulos went away, her brother Peter Leontsinis did. He was predeceased by Kotsopoulos. She is survived by her loving husband Ernest Kotsopoulos of Tewksbury, a daughter, Alison Ullman, and her husband Jonathan of Reading, two grandsons, Niko and Joshua, and a number of nieces and nephews. Her husband was devoted to her throughout their marriage. On Tuesday, April 16, at ten o’clock in the morning, her funeral will take place at the Tewksbury Funeral Home.
