Kevin Garrity Obituary, Death – Kevin Garrity, 41, of Watertown, Connecticut, died on November 3, 2018, unexpectedly. Kevin attended Frederick Gunn School in Washington, Connecticut. During his stay there, he was named to the honor roll, served as a Prefect, and graduated with the Gunnery Cup. Kevin was a varsity athlete in rowing, soccer, and basketball during his high school years. Kevin was named to the United States Development Rowing Team in 1998. He was nominated to the US National Rowing Team the following year, allowing him to train and compete in Canada and Bulgaria.

Kevin earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Economics and Modern American History from Brown University after four years of study. He was a member of the crew team at Brown for four years. Kevin joined the faculty at The Frederick Gunn School after graduating in 2003, where he taught physics, coached basketball and rowing, and advised students. He was a dorm parent, a prefect advisor, and the leader of the crew program, all of which demonstrate his commitment to student life.

The Class of 1955 honoured him with the Distinguished Teaching Award. Kevin and Kate met at The Frederick Gunn School, where they eventually married in 2013. When Kevin and Kate were hired as teachers at the Williston Northampton School in Easthampton, Massachusetts, they elected to live on the school’s premises. Kevin was an advisor, a dorm parent, a rowing coach, and a coach for basketball, soccer, and golf at Williston, in addition to teaching physics and chemistry.

Kevin was a devoted husband, father, son, and sibling. His parents, Thomas and Georgia Garrity, his two children, Cameron (eight) and Maggie (two), as well as his siblings, Ryan Garrity, Meghan Garrity, Caitlin Dixon, and Errity Garrity, survive him. Kevin was a loving wife, father, son, and brother. His death will be devastating to his family. On November 13, a funeral ceremony will be place at Easthampton Congregational Church, 112 Main Street, Easthampton, Massachusetts 01027. The service, which will be followed by a reception, is open to relatives and friends.
