Kevin Costa Obituary, Death – Cherishing and honoring Kevin Costa’s memory with everlasting gratitude (78 years) SJOC 1961 Kevin Costa The death of Kevin Costa has created a void at both St. Joseph’s College and the St. Joseph’s College Foundation, both of which extend their condolences to Kevin’s family and friends (17-11-2022) In 1955, Kevin enrolled at St. Joseph’s College and lived on campus as a boarder. At the same time, his older brother Anthony also attended the college. Since he joined the SJC community many years ago, Kevin has garnered a great deal of affection and regard from his fellow residents.
In addition, he was a significant contributor to the formation of the SJC Foundation in the year 1995, when it was first established. Maintaining a deep dedication to our College all the way up until the time of his passing, he served as chair of the committee from 1999 until 2009 and continued to be a member of the committee until the day he died. Kevin, along with other long-term committee members Dr. Joe Virgona and Peter Rudd, was honored with a 25-year service award for his dedication to the College and the Foundation in November of the year prior, during the celebration of the Foundation’s 25th anniversary.
This award was given in recognition of Kevin’s commitment to the Foundation. The news that Kevin had won this award made him extremely happy. Kevin’s stories about his time at St. Joseph’s, in particular as a boarder, have become legendary, and he has attended every reunion held with other former boarders over the course of many years. During this time, Kevin was a boarder at the school. The College would like to extend its most heartfelt condolences to Lorraine and Brad Costa, as well as to the rest of the Costa family. His fellow Old Collegians and his entire St. Joseph’s family will grieve the loss of a true friend of the university and a member of the St. Joseph’s community who will be sorely missed. He will be greatly missed. Kevin, I pray that you find peace in heaven. “Take it a little easier on yourself.”
