Keith Ridsdale Obituary, Death -Because my loving father Keith Ridsdale passed away at the end of July, the past few months have been some of the most challenging and discouraging of my entire life. I will never get over the loss of my father. When you were having a conversation with him, he would talk your ear off and be able to talk to anyone and everyone. He had the ability to talk to anyone and everyone.
Because he could strike up a conversation with anybody and everybody, I have no doubt that many of you were acquainted with him. This was something that he enjoyed doing, particularly in the Laneway, and it never fails to make me happy to think about how much of a catalyst for conversation and connection this particular area is. This was something that he enjoyed doing in the Laneway in particular. He frequented this location in order to meet new people and cultivate existing relationships.
He bragged to ANYONE and EVERYONE he could find about what I was accomplishing with Food Is Free Laneway, and he was always so damn proud of what I was accomplishing with the organization. He bragged about what I was accomplishing with Food Is Free Laneway. He came by on a fairly consistent basis and never missed a beat when he did so. Because he was always looking for ways to participate in the fun that was going on, and because he finally got the chance to do so, he was overjoyed to finally get the chance to meet Costa on his very first trip.
He had been looking forward to it for a long time. In addition, it was generally agreed upon that he was “a great bloke!” I haven’t been able to say this because I was afraid that I would start crying the moment someone brought him up.
Because of this, I haven’t been able to say this. I have not been able to say this for the reasons stated above. As a direct result of this, I decided to delay taking any action until now, when it seemed like the appropriate time to do so. I hope this decision was the right one. We are all going to miss having him here with us because he was such a gregarious, outgoing, and full of life person throughout his entire life. Thanks Da. x
