Joseph Dotro Obituary, Death – Joseph Dotro has unexpectedly passed away. Joseph attended both LaSalle College High School and LaSalle College. Following college, he pursued a career in market research, eventually becoming a partner and owner of the well-known marketing research and public opinion firm Bruno and Dotro Research Associates in Princeton, NJ. Joseph donated his time and money to Catholic Charities, the Lord’s Table, and a variety of other charitable organizations over the years. He belonged to the Piazza Nuova Lodge #2665 and the LaSalle Explorers Club.
Joseph had a diverse set of interests. He was interested in Irish and Italian cultures, as well as reading, music, and travel. He could also cook, talk in a variety of accents (particularly Irish and Italian), tell funny stories, and balance spoons on his nose. Joseph, in addition to coaching his children’s sports and enjoying fresh water fishing, was a die-hard fan of the Philadelphia 76ers. He had an Arabian horse stable and was friends with local thoroughbreds who raced at Delaware Park. From training to being in the paddock on race day and handicapping the huge race cards, Joseph loved everything about the Sport of Kings. To avoid missing the Kentucky Derby, he traveled to Saratoga Race Track every summer, where the greatest of the current crop of race horses raced in a once-a-year six-week meet.
According to Joseph, the track has the ability to host major league races in a gorgeous upstate New York “country fair” setting. His loving wife Mary (D’Elia) Dotro survives, as do his daughters Dana Dotro and her partner Gerald Brady of Wilmington, DE, Joanna Dotro-Riley and her husband Kenneth of Ewing, NJ, his son Joseph M. Dotro and his wife Jeanne of Southampton, PA, and his grandchildren Kaitlyn, William, and Jack Schury, Owen Joseph and Maria Riley, and Mary Kate, Megan Dotro-Riley.
