Joseph Brancaleone Obituary, Death – A Gloucester citizen named Joseph Antonino Brancaleone, who was 73 years old and had been ailing for some time, passed away on November 6, 2022. He had been battling an illness for some time. Joseph Brancaleone was born on January 14, 1949 in Gloucester to Antonina Brancaleone and her late husband, Antonio Brancaleone. His paternal grandfather was Antonio Brancaleone.

Joseph graduated from both Saint Mel’s day school and Saint Ann’s High School in 1967, earning a total of two diplomas that year. Following his graduation from high school, Joseph spent a combined total of four years working as a quartermaster aboard the nuclear submarines USS George Bancroft and USS Thomas Jefferson.

After serving his time in the Navy, he joined the family fishing business in 1972 and worked there up until an incident that took place on the Joseph and Lucia II. His entire 27-year career was spent working for the company Analogic, which is headquartered in Peabody. Previously, he oversaw the operation of the Captain Harry’s Seafood & Restaurant in Ipswich as well as the Depot coffee shop in Rockport.

Joseph was an active participant in both the American Legion and Gloucester Marine Railways, where he held the position of director. On November 26, 2018, Joseph and his wife “Katie,” with whom he adored going on adventures, celebrated their golden wedding anniversary. Joseph and “Katie” enjoyed going on adventures together. On a cruise, some of his favorite destinations were the Caribbean, Mexico, Hawaii, the South Pacific, Alaska, Europe, Australia, and New Zealand. He also enjoyed traveling to these areas and more.

Joseph took a lot of pride in caring to his garden and organizing get-togethers at his house for his four daughters, eight grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. After he passes away, he will be remembered by a number of people, including his mother Antonina and his wife Kathleen, as well as his children Tony and Melanie, who live in Rowley, Massachusetts; Richard and Irca, who live in East Hartford, Connecticut; and Joseph Jr. and Carolyn, who live in Gloucester, Massachusetts; and Richard and Irca.

His loving grandkids are named Emma, Cooper, Tyler, Sebastian, Neo, Joseph III, Jillian, and Christopher. His other grandchildren are named Cooper, Tyler, Neo, and Jillian. Jillian is another member who belongs to this group. In addition, he is survived by his brother Thomas and his wife Janey, both of whom reside in Gloucester; his sister-in-law Paddy, who resides in the Villages, Florida; his brothers-in-law Richard McCormack and Lily, both of whom reside in Gloucester; Michael and Bonita, who reside in Port Richie, Florida; and a large number of nieces and nephews.

He passed away on April 15, 2019. Before he did, his brother Gaetano, who had just been born, his mother Antonio, his father Allerio, and his brother-in-law John McCormack all went away. He was the last surviving member of his family.
