Jolayne Tweedie Obituary, Death – Jolayne Myers was born on August 1, 1966, in Calgary, Alberta, to parents Gail and Barbara Myers. Jolayne was the sweetest and most tender-hearted of the three girls, but she was also the leader. She was the senior citizen. She attended Alberta Bible College after graduating from high school. She married her true love, Greg Tweedie, in 1986, and the couple was married for 36 years. She worked as a deaf teacher for the Calgary Board of Education after graduating from the University of Calgary with a bachelor’s degree in education until 1994, when she gave birth to her first child.

Moving around the world and raising her six children, Jolisa, Josiah, Jayden, Joshua, and Jasmine, while taking advantage of all the new opportunities that came her way, was her most exciting experience. She had a ready smile, an endless willingness to learn, and an endless capacity to share her gifts with others, and these three qualities drew people from all over the world to her.

Jolayne’s cancer battle was difficult, but it did not prevent her from achieving her goals. She never failed to see the bright side of adversity and saw evidence of God’s grace in every action she took. Jolayne leaves behind her husband, Greg Tweedie, six children, her father, Gail Myers, two sisters, Janelle Mackenzie and Judi Ringuette, and three young grandchildren, James, Daniel, and Adanna. Her father has also passed away. Her mother, Barbara Myers, passed away before she was born. Everyone who had the privilege of knowing her will miss her bravery, warmth, and infectious laugh.

Instead of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to one or more of the following organizations: Wellspring Calgary, Pine Lake Christian Camp, Bow Valley Christian Church, or Centre Street Church.
A memorial service honoring the deceased will be held at Bow Valley Christian Church on Friday, November 25, at 2:00 p.m.
