John Williams Obituary,  Death – John William Williams was born on April 4, 1932, in Norwood, Louisiana. He passed away in Baton Rouge, the city that he had spent the majority of his life in, on October 10, 2022, at the age of 90, having lived a life that was filled with many satisfying experiences. John William Williams was a resident of Baton Rouge for the majority of his life. After graduating from Catholic High School in 1950 and going on to serve in the United States Air Force during the Korean War from 1950 until 1955, John eventually became a pilot for the Korean Air Force. At the same university where he received his undergraduate education in chemical engineering, he went on to earn his master’s degree in business administration.

John was a member of a number of different organizations, some of which include the Parkview Baptist Church, the Rotary Club, and the Chem-Engineering Society. He began his employment at Copolymer in 1960 and remained there until his retirement in 1991, having put in a total of 32 years before taking his pension. John enjoyed a wide range of pursuits, such as reading, tinkering, traveling, woodworking, and bass fishing. However, spending time with his family was John’s most treasured hobby by far. He is survived by his wife, JoAnn Williams, three sons, Britt Williams (Bridget), Scott, and Trey (Dawn), and a total of 15 grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his son, Trey Williams. The 15th of September, 2018 was the day he passed away. Milton and Katherine Williams, his parents, both passed away before he was born, so he never had the opportunity to meet them. As an alternative to the more common practice of holding a funeral, a memorial service will be held at Greenoaks Memorial Park on Thursday, October 13, at one o’clock in the afternoon. In lieu of sending flowers, the family requests that you please consider making a donation in John’s name to a charitable organization of your choosing.
