John Garner Obituary, Death – The community as well as the firefighter’s family were taken aback on Wednesday when they learned of the unexpected departure of a firefighter who worked for Central Pierce Fire & Rescue. The sudden departure of the firefighter left his family in a state of disbelief as well. The information that was provided by Central Pierce Fire & Rescue on Thursday indicates that John Garner passed away at his residence in the early hours of December 14th.

Throughout his career, Garner was an active participant in the International Association of Fire Fighters and held a variety of leadership positions within the organization. He was a dedicated member of the association. His services to the communities of Pierce County and Ocean Shores were beneficial to both of those locations.In addition to that, Garner was a passionate supporter of the Seattle Seahawks and enjoyed riding motorcycles in his spare time. A memorial ceremony is in the process of being prepared at this time, and additional details surrounding the event will be made available in the days to follow.

It has been agreed to establish a support account in order to provide financial aid to his family so that they can make it through this difficult period. This will allow the family to cope better. All of us here at Central Pierce Fire & Rescue, along with the rest of the firefighting community, are in a state of profound grief as a result of the passing of John Garner, who was universally recognized as one of the most beloved members of our firefighting community.

John went away peacefully in the comfort of his own home on the morning of December 14, 2022. His departure was a serene and painless experience. Because of the suddenness with which he passed away, his loved ones, friends, and the brothers and sisters with whom he worked at IAFF Local 726, as well as his entire family at Central Pierce Fire & Rescue, are all in a state of complete and utter disbelief. His passing came as a complete and utter surprise to everyone.
