Jim Matthews Obituary, Death – My gallant and valiant father, Jim Matthews, lost his courageous two-month-long battle against cancer yesterday evening. He was able to fight until the very end. He was unable to overcome the effects of the sickness and went away yesterday evening. I hope and pray that he will be at rest for the rest of eternity. It is very difficult for me to provide you with all of this information because it hurts my feelings to do so, and as a consequence, it is very difficult for me to do so.
As a result of the heroic efforts that he has made in the past, we feel an incredible amount of pride for him. He committed every last bit of his strength and stamina to the endeavor. The viewing will begin in the church and continue there until it is finished. My family and I would like to take this opportunity to extend our gratitude to each and every nurse and other member of the hospital staff for everything they did to assist my father while he was there.
They visited my father frequently while he was in the hospital and were there for him the entire time they were there. It is a relief to me to know that in the minutes leading up to his passing, he did not endure any form of physical or emotional agony whatsoever. Knowing this has provided me with some measure of comfort.
