Jeff Manning Obituary, Death – We are breaking the news to our community that a member of the SJCSO family has passed away, and we do so with a heavy heart because this tragedy has befallen our organization. Reserve Deputy Jeff Manning fought a medical emergency for the past weekend, but he was ultimately unable to win the battle and passed away. Our staff members brought him home from Denver on Sunday and have provided a security guard who will be on duty around the clock so that he is not disturbed while his family makes preparations to bury him.
While Jeff Manning has served as a Reserve Deputy for the past six years, he has also volunteered hundreds of hours over the past year and a half to help make our city a safer place.

This work has been done in conjunction with his service. In recent years, he has been very helpful in supporting us in filling gaps in our Civil Division. He has traveled thousands of miles in order to assist with the transport of prisoners. In addition, he has been quite helpful in helping us fill gaps in our Civil Division. In addition to that, he has been an indispensable contributor to our team.
From each and every one of us here at the San Juan County Sheriff’s Office, please accept our heartfelt condolences on behalf of Mr. Manning’s family. Everyone who would like to attend the funeral service and pay their respects is extended an invitation by the family.

On Friday, November 18, at eleven o’clock in the morning, funeral services will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Kirtland. (10 Rd 6523 Kirtland, NM) He was a remarkable individual and a well-respected figure in the leadership of our town, and we could always count on Deputy Manning to be there for us when we needed him. “—Sheriff Shane Ferrari “No matter where we were or what time it was, we could always count on Deputy Manning to be there for us when we needed him.
