Jeannine Cloete Obituary, Death – In light of the sadness that has befallen our organization, we are informing our community that a member of the SJCSO family has gone away. Over the last weekend, Reserve Deputy Jeff Manning battled a medical emergency, but he was finally unsuccessful and died. His family is preparing to bury him, so our staff members took him home from Denver on Sunday. To ensure that he is not disturbed, we have set up a security guard who will be on duty constantly. Jeff Manning has been a Reserve Deputy for the past six years, but over the past 18 months, he has also volunteered hundreds of hours to make our town a better place.
Along with his service, this work has been done. He has been incredibly helpful in recent years in helping us fill holes in our Civil Division. He has traveled a great distance to help with the transportation of prisoners. He has also been helpful in filling in some of our Civil Division’s shortcomings. He has also been a crucial part of our team, in addition to all that.
Please accept our sincere condolences on behalf of Mr. Manning’s family from each and every member of the San Juan County Sheriff’s Office. The family extends an invitation to anybody who wishes to attend the funeral service and show their condolences.
Funeral services will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Kirtland on Friday, November 18, at 11:00 a.m. (Kirtland, NM) 10 Rd. We could always rely on Deputy Manning to be there for us when we needed him since he was a fantastic person and a well-respected member of our town’s leadership.” — Shane Ferrari, sheriff “Deputy Manning was always there for us when we needed him, no matter where we were or what hour it was.
