Jarrid Matteson Obituary, Death – At the age of 36, Jarrid L. MATTESON, who resided in Wellsville, New York, passed away at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester on November 16, 2022. His parents, Brian and Tammy Waters Matteson, gave birth to him in Wellsville on January 15, 1986. He was their son. After graduating from Wellsville High School in 2005, he went on to study Fire and Emergency Medical Services at Corning Community College. He tied the knot with Katie L. Williams on October 22, 2016, in Wellsville, and she is still alive. Kmart, L.C. Whitford, Bokman of Wellsville, several local farms, Track Rescue, MTS, and Concrete Mixer Supply of Olean all employed him at one time or another.
He also worked there as a painter. Jarrid was a member of the Crosstown Alliance Church in addition to being a member of the Wellsville Volunteer Fire Company, where he held multiple positions and is currently the captain of the fire department; the Wellsville Volunteer Ambulance Corps, where he served as chairman; and the fire department. Jarrid dedicated a significant amount of his time and energy to the fire department. He ran Jarryd’s Woodworking, which he owned and operated. Surviving in addition to his wife, Katie, are two daughters named Mya and Gracie; his parents, Brian and Tammy Matteson of Wellsville; his paternal grandparents,
Marion and Mary Matteson of Wellsville; his maternal grandfather, Paul Waters of Andover; a sister, Brianna (Eric) Jordan of Plymouth, MA; two brothers, Bret (Erica) Matteson of Whitesville and Scott (Wendy) Lanphier of Scio; his mother-in Sarah Waters, his maternal grandmother, and his uncles Alan Matteson, Scott Matteson, and Stanley Weinhauer all passed away before he did. At Olney-Foust Funeral Homes & Cremation, Crowell Chapel, located at 296 North Main Street in Wellsville, New York, friends and family are welcome to call on Tuesday, November 22, 2022 from 10:00 AM until 2:00 PM. A celebration in honor of Jarrid will take place in the Willing Town Hall at three in the afternoon.
