James Walke Obituary, Death – STATEMENT FROM THE GRAND MASTER EXPRESSING DISMAY AT BISHOP OF OXFORD’S COMMENTS ON “SAME SEX MARRIAGE”
We as an organization that is committed to upholding the biblical principles of morality and ethics are appalled by the statements made by the Bishop of Oxford. In these statements, he urged the Church of England to permit “same-sex marriage” between members of the congregation and members of the clergy. As an institution that is dedicated to upholding the biblical principles of morality and ethics, we are appalled by these statements.
His article is 52 pages long and it is packed to the gills with references to love, but it is quite evident that he does not have a great deal of passion for the Word of God or its direct message on marriage. To argue, as he does, that same-sex couples should be allowed to be “married” inside the context of the church requires one to interpret the Bible in a manner that is contrary to its original intent. Even though we are commanded to show love to everyone, this does not mean that we are to condone lifestyles that are immoral or unnatural, nor does it mean that we are to reject not only the truth that is found in the Bible, but also the most fundamental aspects of common sense.
Even though we are commanded to show love to everyone, this does not mean that we are to condone lifestyles that are immoral or unnatural. As a consequence of our society’s submission to the goals of LGBTQ+ activists, the conventional model of the nuclear family is sadly collapsing right in front of our very eyes. People who adhere to a humanist worldview should not be held to extremely high standards; rather, we should be able to rely on the Christian church to uphold its consistency. However, the Church of England is rife with compromise and error, and because it is continuing its slow descent into irrelevance, we will need to go elsewhere for leadership that is faithful to the Bible.
This is because there is a lot of room for compromise and error within the Church of England.
