Jacob Jeske Obituary, Death –  Jacob On October 13, 2022, in Smyrna, Georgia, Thomas Emmanuel Jeske, our beautiful son, brother, and friend to many, passed tragically abruptly. He was 27 years old. His sisters Brooklyn Maloney (Ryan), Madison, Britton, and Graycen Jeske, as well as his parents Ross and Val Jeske and his one true love Jeryn Gallant, will always have a special place in their hearts for Jacob. Grandparents Lyle and Marilyn Kellington, Bernice Jeske, and many devoted aunts, uncles, and cousins remain in his life. Jacob followed in the footsteps of his aunts Kathy and Gwen Jeske as well as his grandfather John Jeske, who were waiting for him on the other side.

On January 7, 1995, Jacob was born in Red Deer, Alberta. We went back to Marietta, Georgia, where he spent his first two years of life, when he was just 19 days old. We later relocated to Seattle, Washington, where his father practiced chiropractic medicine for two years. When Jacob was four years old, his father thought it was time to come back home, so the family relocated to Calgary. Jacob stayed in Calgary and earned his high school diploma from Crescent Heights in 2013. He continued playing junior hockey for the Weyburn Red Wings for three more seasons in Weyburn, Saskatchewan.

He made the decision to play collegiate hockey and perhaps seek an education after finishing junior hockey. Jacob played for the Lumberjacks in Ashland, Wisconsin, and received a scholarship to attend Northland College. Jacob spent four years as a Lumberjacks player before graduating with a Bachelor of Science in 2020. Jacob returned from the United States due to Covid and the closing of the boarders, but he departed Calgary once more in March 2021 to attend Life University in Marietta, Georgia. His father went to the same chiropractic college, Life University. Jacob passed away while he was beginning the seventh quarter, which is the halfway point.

The American Chiropractic Boards’ Part One exam was just completed and passed by Jacob, who had been on the Deans list each quarter.
The Symons Valley Hockey Association, Calgary Northstars, Edge School, Southern Alberta Selects, and a few men’s beer leagues were among the local hockey teams on which Jacob played over the years. Jacob was incredibly lucky to have played with and against so many incredible and brilliant individuals who he regarded to be family and friends for life.
On Friday, October 28, 2022, at 1:00 pm, a memorial service for Jacob will be conducted at the First Alliance Church (12345 40th St SE Calgary), with a reception to follow.
