Jack Halliday Obituary, Death – On the 20th of December, our organization honored Jack Halliday with a memorial service. Up until the day he passed away on November 20, Jack was a member of our honorary club. Jack’s passing away brought an end to his membership. Although Jack had called the town of Roscommon his home since the early 1960s, he was originally from the county of Yorkshire in England.

As soon as he and June had finished unpacking and arranging their belongings in their new house, they signed up for membership in the Roscommon golf club so that they could meet people in the neighborhood. Their goal was to make new friends as soon as possible after moving into their new home. Jack has been a dedicated member of our club for many years, and during that time he has served in a number of capacities, including those of President, Captain, and Secretary.

He was a wonderful member who assisted other members in repairing their golf equipment and did a variety of other repair jobs throughout the club. He also worked on various other repair projects. In addition to that, he was in charge of ensuring that the club’s facilities were properly maintained and repaired. Jack’s sunny disposition, never-ending stream of chatter, and uncanny ability to put others at ease in our club were three of the traits that stood out the most about him. One who embodies the definition of “gentleman” in every conceivable way.

During this difficult time, we are keeping his wife June, daughter Karen, sons Grant and Gary, and the rest of his extended family and friends in our thoughts and prayers. We are also keeping his extended family in our thoughts and prayers as well. The fact that Jack is unable to be with us anymore will leave a profound sense of loss in each and every member of our club. I hope and pray that he will be at rest for the rest of eternity.
