Irene Starrs Obituary, Death –  According to a report that was sourced from various online sources, Irene Starrs passed away not too long ago. It is with great regret that we learned of her passing. The news of the death has generated a lot of reactions on social media, which has prompted members of the deceased person’s family and friends to grieve. Every new beginning in life ultimately results in the same natural end. One of the achievements of human existence is the formation of memories, and despite the transience of life itself, memories can frequently endure for the entirety of a person’s entire life. We are making an effort to gain further insight into the tragic news that Irene Starrs has passed away. According to the statement that can be found below, we discovered the news of Irene Starr’s passing through a user on social media.

It is with heavy hearts that we share the news that a little after 2 a.m. today, November 15th, our beloved Irene Elizabeth Kelly Starrs was called home by Our Lord to her heavenly reward. All day yesterday, Mom was declining quickly and a hospice nurse came by in the early evening. The nurse let us know that she had begun actively dying, and would likely pass within the next day. Our family spent the afternoon and evening around Mom – praying, singing, sharing memories, and talking to her. We read aloud voicemails and countless messages to her from all of you – even though she couldn’t respond, we know your outpouring of love brought Mom (and all of us) comfort and peace as she prepared to journey home.

A few days ago, one of Mom’s dearest friends, Cherie Sherrier, brought her a rosary that is a third-class relic (it had touched the glove that Saint Padre Pio wore to cover the stigmata when he celebrated Mass). Mom was so touched by this gift; we have been asking for Padre Pio’s intercession in the past months, and there have been several occasions where it was very clear he was praying for her. We put the rosary in her hand to hold throughout the night.

Around 2 a.m., our dad was holding Mom’s hand and praying. He prayed, “Padre Pio, Irene is ready to go. Take her home.” A few minutes later, Mom took her final breaths. Our family is certainly heartbroken; although we knew this day may be coming for a long time, nothing can prepare you fully for the death of a loved one. However, the way in which she passed brings us much comfort. Growing up, we would end our family night prayers each night by saying, “May the Lord grant us a restful night and a peaceful death.”

Last night, we saw those nightly prayers answered so beautifully. Mom passed away after receiving last rites, surrounded by her family, holding her husband’s hand, held up by the prayers and love of countless friends, at peace with God and longing for the heavenly homeland we were made for. As heartbroken as we are, we cannot imagine a happier and holier death.
We are so grateful for the gift of her life. We will keep you updated about wake and funeral arrangements in the following days.
“‘Well done, my good and faithful servant… Come, share your master’s joy.’” (Matthew 25:23)
Love,
The Starrs Family
