George Kraft Obituary, Death – We regret to inform you of the passing of Dr. George Kraft (1936-2022). Dr. Kraft was a pioneer in MS treatment, research, and education. We feel privileged to oversee a research initiative built on the foundation he laid. We will miss him. Dr. George D. Kraft passed away on Saturday, May 23, 2020 at Brookdale Lake Shore Drive in Chicago, Illinois. He was 82 years old and had previously lived in Naperville, Illinois, since 1966. He was the son of the late Stephen and Ruth Kraft and was born on September 10, 1937 in Cleveland, Ohio. Beloved father of Stephen Kraft, Mark (Julie), and Michael (Amy), and cherished grandfather of Emily, Sebastien, Emmanuel, Maggie, Aidan, Genevieve, and Stephen. For 55 years, he was married to the late Margaret Kraft, nee Ross.

Ruth (Ron) Woods and Stephanie Kraft’s dearest brother. dear uncle and many people’s cousin. Dr. Kraft graduated with a Bachelor of Science from Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1959. He graduated from Case Institute of Technology with a Master of Science in 1961 and a PhD in 1966. He was a long-time participant in the IEEE and a member of the Society of the Sigma XI and Eta Kappa Nu. Dr. Kraft worked as a research scientist for AT&T Bell Laboratories for 15 years. From 1968 until his retirement in 2004, he also served as a professor at the Illinois Institute of Technology. He was a tenured faculty member at the Stuart School of Business and the IIT School of Engineering when he started teaching full-time in 1980. Numerous books, articles, and professional papers were written by him.

Dr. Kraft was a guy of countless interests and numerous studies, as well as an electrical engineer, computer scientist, author, and teacher. The Dr. Kraft family requests donations be given in his honor to his nurses and caregivers at “The Brookdale Holiday Fund,” 2960 North Lake Shore Drive, Chicago, IL 60657, in lieu of flowers. There will be a memorial service in the future.
