George Janky Obituary, Death – George Janky, a resident of Dayton, Ohio, passed away on Friday, November 11, 2022. He was 74 years old at the time of his passing. George Janky was born on April 22, 1948, in the city of Chicago, Illinois. His parents, Joseph Janky and Ruth (McHugh) Janky, have since passed away. After a sales career that spanned 48 years at WTUE Radio, where he was honored with both the Diamond and Presidents Club Awards, he retired before attending worship services at the Centerville Community Church. During his tenure at WTUE Radio, he was also presented with the Lifetime Achievement Award.

At the time of his graduation from the University of Dayton, George #35 was largely considered to be one of the best and most well-liked basketball players in the school’s history. George, who went to St. Rita High School in Chicago and was ranked as one of the top five recruits in the country, played the position of center as a sophomore for the University of Dayton Flyers team that won the National Invitational Tournament in 1968. In that year, the tournament was held in Dayton, Ohio. George finished his senior year at Dayton as the top scorer on the team and was awarded the title of Most Valuable Player. He was also the captain of the senior team.

George, a loving and caring parent, took great delight in providing delicious meals for his children and wife. George had a one-of-a-kind smile, and his embraces became his signature. He was a really generous person. It was impossible to resist his grin. The personalized notes and presents that he sent to his family, friends, and customers were all highly appreciated by those individuals. Before George was born, both of his parents and his brother, Joseph Jr., as well as his sister-in-law, Elaine, and his brother-in-law, Joseph Chopp, had already passed away. He is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Kim; daughters Madison, Kerry (Mike) Dorsten, and Katie (Charlie) Frank; grandchildren Samantha, Harris, George, Oliver, and Lucas; sisters Ruth Ann Chopp and Sue (Mike) Pugh; brother Bob (Kym) Janky; and a large number of nieces and nephews.

He was a dedicated family man and will be greatly missed by all of his loved ones. He served in the United States Air Force for a period of time and passed away after his parents had already passed away. The Centerville Community Church, which can be found at 10688 Dayton Lebanon Pike in Dayton, Ohio 45458, will be the location of the visitation that will take place on Thursday, November 17, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm. On November 18, at 10:30 in the morning, there will be a memorial ceremony, and it will be conducted at the church.
