Gary Miller Obituary, Death – Gary Lee Miller, 67 years old, of New London, Missouri, passed away at his home at 11:40 a.m. on a Friday. Everette and Yvonne Schwanke Miller welcomed their son Gary into the world on November 26, 1954, in Hannibal, Missouri. Lori Stout became his wife on January 7, 1978, and the ceremony took place in New London, Missouri. She will live on. All of Gary’s friends who played golf together will serve as honorary pallbearers at his funeral. In memory of Gary, memorial donations can be made to the New London Senior Center Building Fund or the Jackson Park Golf Course. Both of these organizations host golf courses.
Other survivors include two children, Trenton Miller and his wife Stephanie of New London, Missouri, and Carlee Miller of Hannibal, Missouri; two grandchildren, Riley Brown and Remington Miller; two brothers, Marvin Miller and his wife Vicki of New London, Missouri, and Darrell Miller of New London, Missouri; five sisters, Rita Pursifull of New London, Missouri, Bonnie Richards and her husband Alvin of O’Fallon, Missouri, Paula Nelson and her husband Johnny of New London, Missouri
Gary’s parents, two brothers—Wayne Miller and Lowell Miller, two sisters—Cheryl Butler and Connie Miller, two brothers-in-law—Danny Pursifull and Whimpy Butler, and his father-in-law, Carl Stout—preceded him in death. Connie and Cheryl were Gary’s sisters. Wayne and Lowell were his brothers. Gary eventually reached the point in his career at Independent Service Company where he was able to retire after having worked there for the previous 41 years, beginning as a master drawer.
When Gary wasn’t at work, you could find him out on the golf course. He was a member of the Jackson Park Golf Course in Palmyra, Missouri, and he found great joy in getting together with his friends to play local courses, particularly that course. Gary was a devoted sports fan who relished the opportunity to watch local high school athletes compete in a variety of sports. Gary, who used to play slow pitch softball, enjoyed watching baseball games involving the St. Louis Cardinals.
In addition to that, he was a big fan of the San Francisco 49ers football team. Gary found great happiness in spending the winters on the Florida Gulf coast, where he could bask in the sun and enjoy the beach. Gary enjoyed a variety of pastimes, some of which included eating Chinese food, playing card games with his family, and watching golf or a game show on television. Above all else, Gary cherished the times he got to spend with his loved ones, both blood and chosen. Scott Miller, Chris Miller, Eddie Reynolds, Keith Richards, Bobby Butler, Donnie Miller, and Cory Miller will serve as pallbearers during the funeral service.
