Fred Mueller Obituary, Death – Frederick W. Mueller, 84, of Port Washington, died on November 19, 2022, peacefully. He was born to John and Ruth Mueller on January 29, 1938, in Saukville, Wisconsin. Fred Witt married Dorothy Witt on May 28, 1960, at St. Patrick Cathedral in Fort Worth, Texas, and they had three children together. After a brief stint in seminary, Fred graduated from Plymouth High School. He discovered his love of cooking and baking while attending seminary. He proudly served in the United States Air Force in Texas, where he began his law enforcement career.
They returned to Wisconsin to raise their family after Dorothy died. He began his 28-year career with the Ozaukee County Sheriff’s Department soon after. He was promoted to Detective during his time there. He was the lead investigator in three homicide investigations. He was the chief property officer and was in charge of welfare fraud. He also worked as a SWAT team hostage negotiator and on internal investigations. He and Dorothy moved to Las Vegas when he retired, where he worked as a security guard for Caesar’s Palace. They moved to Wisconsin after 13 years in Las Vegas to be closer to their family. Fred enjoyed bingo, gambling, cooking, bowling, watching movies, listening to Celine Dion, and dining out for any occasion, big or small. Above all, he cherished his time with his family.
Fred is survived by his children, Debbie (Chris) Hill of Port Washington and Paul Mueller of Port Washington; grandson Tyler (Carol) Hill of Saukville; great-grandson Asher Hill; siblings Tom (Dina) Mueller of Livermore, CA, Caroline Klaport of Tacoma, WA, and Carol Mueller of Port Washington; and sister-in-law Carol Mueller of Port Washington. He is survived by numerous nieces and nephews, as well as other relatives and friends. His teddy bear dog, Dottie, will be devastated. His parents, wife Dorothy, daughter Dianne Mueller, siblings Doris (Jerry) Smith, Reggie (Frieda) Mueller, John (Billie) Mueller, Nick (Mae) Mueller, Robert Mueller, Eugene (Sharon) Mueller, and brother-in-law Ed Klaport predeceased him.
Fred’s memorial service will be held on Tuesday, November 29, 2022 at 1:00PM at Eernisse Funeral Home, 1600 W. Grand Ave., Port Washington, WI 53074. Visitors are welcome at the funeral home from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. The family wishes to thank his caregiver, Vickie Colber, the nurses and staff on the third floor of Aurora Grafton Hospital, and the nurses and staff at Horizon-Lawlis Hospice in Mequon.
