Fred Ervin Obituary, Death – Fred Edward Ervin, who had spent his life in Edenton, North Carolina, but was born in Creswell, North Carolina, passed away on March 4, 2022 at the Vidant Chowan Hospital in Edenton. He had reached the age of 85. He was born in Long Beach, Mississippi, on April 5, 1933, but sadly, both of his parents, John Edward Ervin and Elizabeth Louise Bass Ervin, have passed away since then.
His birthday is April 5. John Edward Ervin and Elizabeth Louise Bass Ervin were his parents, and he was their son. His sister, Rose Marie Young, had passed away before he did, so she was already gone when he died. Fred distinguished himself while serving his country in both the Korean War and the Vietnam War, which he did before retiring from the United States Army and enjoying the well-earned retirement he had earned. After he had already enjoyed his retirement, he went back to work for Pepsi as a vending technician, where he remained employed for a number of years.
He eventually retired from the company after having worked there for a combined total of twenty years and joined the Philippi Church of Christ after moving there. Both the American Legion Post 391 and the Kairos Prison Ministry acknowledged him at one point in time as a member of their respective organizations. His family includes his wife, Maisie Spear Ervin, who lives in Creswell, North Carolina; sons Wade Edward Ervin of Austell, Georgia; Mark Edward Ervin and wife Martha of Gulfport, Mississippi; and Barry Edward Ervin of Gulfport, Mississippi; step-daughters Lynn Wentzell of McHenry, Mississippi; Debbie Reed of Sinica, South Carolina; and Lisa C. Patrick of Creswell, North Carolina; and step-sons Mitchell Patrick and wife Rena’ and Doug Patrick of Memorial services will be held at Philippi Church of Christ on Thursday, March 7, 2022 at 7:00 p.m., and Glenn Brickhouse and Howard Simpson will serve as the officiating ministers for the event.
A reception for the family’s friends will be held at the church following the funeral service; on other occasions, they will hold the same thing at their home. A funeral service will be held at the cemetery in the future, and then the burial will take place in the city of Long Beach in the state of Mississippi.
