Evie Sylvestrou Obituary, Death – Since we received the terrible news that our cherished alumna Evie Sylvestrou had passed away, each and every one of us has been overcome with a profound sense of loss ever since we found out about the unfortunate event. Evie attended classes at the AAL while she was a part of this community and during the time that she was a part of it, she was a part of it. This was before to the period when she started working at this organization on a permanent basis. She started working at the same school in 1980, where she had been a student in the past, and stayed there until 2016 when she retired.
During that time period, she worked at the establishment in the capacities of both an English Teacher and an Alumni Officer. Despite the fact that she was never a student at the Academy in her own right, it was never difficult to see her extraordinary love for, and deep commitment to, the institution. She never missed an opportunity to show her support for the organization by participating in an activity that was open to the public. This belief that she possessed a heart that was not only kind, but also selfless, was widespread, and it was commonly thought that she possessed such a heart.
During this trying time, she and her family are in our thoughts and prayers, and we are thinking about and praying for them frequently. We are thinking about and praying for them all the time. We are going to continue doing things in the same fashion that we have been doing them. Because she will not be here to help us, things are going to be very challenging for us. There is going to be a lot of problems ahead for us. I pray that, at long last, she will be granted the tranquility and repose that she has deserved for all of eternity and may she rest in peace. #RIP
