Eric Newman Obituary, Death – It is with a heavy heart that we must inform you of the demise of firefighter Eric Newman, who had recently retired. Unfortunately, Firefighter Newman was unable to beat his cancer battle and passed away. 1997 marked the beginning of Eric’s career in the fire department, which he began with the City of Rolla. He became one of our volunteers in October of 2009. After that, Firefighter Newman was hired on as a career member five months later in March of 2010, and he spent the last 11 years serving the citizens of the Osage Beach Fire District in that capacity.
Firefighter Newman has been an indispensable member of this fire district for many years, and his absence will be deeply felt. Many of the evenings spent with Eric at the dinner table have been filled with tales of adventure and laughter. Over the course of his career, he has instructed a great number of new firefighters on the operations of the fire district as well as how to improve themselves each and every day. Firefighter Newman served as President of the Firefighters Local 3987 for a number of years. This organization includes all of the departments in the Lake Area, including the one in the City of Rolla. On November 29, 2021, Eric officially retired from his job.
Above all things, Eric’s passion was serving his community as a firefighter, and we feel privileged to have known him. Firefighter Newman was a true friend to everyone at the firehouse, and he took great pleasure in spending time there. Eric has had an impact on the lives of many people. A great number of younger firefighters have gained knowledge from him. He was always the first to offer his assistance and guide you through the process of resolving a problem. We will honor you and remember the service you provided to our community and our district, Firefighter Newman. Your legacy will endure in our thoughts and hearts for all time. Because of you, our lives have been improved. Have a peaceful nap, brother. From here on out, we will handle everything.
