David Tivnan Obituary, Death -David R. Tivnan, 52, who was born and raised in South Medford suddenly passed away on November 6, 2022. They had spent their entire lives there. David was a loving husband to Laura Faretra-Tivnan and a devoted father to the couple’s daughter, Gianna Marie Tivnan of Medford. Gianna Marie Tivnan of Medford was named after David. His death came as a complete surprise. David Tivnan was a beloved son who passed away before his parents, Andrea (Kinsella) and Edward Tivnan. His parents had passed away previously.
He was the dearly loved brother of Kevin, who resided in Dracut; Brian, who resided in Pawtucket, Rhode Island with his companion Jaimie Ruszala; and Derek, who passed away and resided in Medford. David was the devoted uncle of Delaney Tivnan of Medford and Madison Ajemian-Tivnan of Hampton, New Hampshire. Delaney and Madison are both named after their uncle. Madison was often referred to as “My true Love.” David was also a beloved son-in-law to Fiore and Marianna (Pascuccio) Faretra of Medford, as well as a brother-in-law to Maria and Carla Faretra of the same city. Fiore and Marianna (Pascuccio) Faretra were the parents of David’s in-laws. David’s infectious laugh and smile, as well as his nickname “Flipper,” will remain ingrained in our memories for the rest of our lives.
A Funeral Procession is scheduled to take place at the George L. Doherty Funeral Home on Monday, November 14th, at 9:00 AM. The funeral home can be found at 855 Broadway (Powder House Square). Following the visitation, there will be a funeral liturgy at St. Clement Church in Medford, which can be found at 64 Warner Street. The service will begin at 10:00 AM. At this occasion, we cordially ask that you bring along any and all of your family and friends.
On Sunday, November 13, from 1:00 PM until 5:00 PM, there will be a period reserved for family and friends to express their condolences and pay their respects. The final act of David’s funeral will be the burying of his remains at Oak Grove Cemetery in Medford, which will bring an end to the services. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in David’s name to the Gianna Tivnan Scholarship Fund.
