Dave Beck Obituary, Death – I was absolutely shattered to learn the tragic news this morning that my good friend Dave Beck, who had passed away the previous night, had been the proprietor of the Rattlers Club in Bradford. His passing has left me absolutely heartbroken. Dave was, without a shadow of a doubt, my top pick for a character. He and his incredibly kind and thoughtful wife, Jackie, were always very polite and respectful to me.
Supporting my gigs over the years, booking me to sing at Rattlers, asking me to be the support act for The Duallers, and letting my band practice in their function room when we put on our very first ever gig at the Rattlers Club in November 2018 were all examples of the support they provided. In addition, they booked me to sing at Rattlers. Dave’s health deteriorated as he bravely and courageously fought COPD, but he never gave up the fight and refused to give in to his condition.
We remained in contact with one another, and I eagerly anticipated each of our conversations. Dave was the most trustworthy, forthright, and simple-minded man I’ve ever had the privilege of knowing. He talked a lot about his family, particularly his wife, children, and grandchildren, and every time he did so, he felt an overwhelming sense of pride. He held his family in the highest regard. Dave had a deep appreciation for live music and put in a lot of effort to ensure that the performances at Rattlers club were among the best they could be. I can’t believe he is gone. My deepest condolences and most sincere love go out to Jackie, his family, Kayleigh, and the rest of the Rattlers crew on the passing of their teammate. Love you Dave. You are not going to believe how much I am going to miss seeing you. I pray that you will find peace and relief from your suffering soon.
