Charlie Gusmano Obituary, Death – Charlie Gusmano has unexpectedly passed away. He was born in Rock Island, Illinois on March 22, to Charlie F. and Velvet (Ackman) Gusmano. His birth family called him “Bubba.” He was Charlie to his massive Hy-Vee and P&D Cleaning Services family. He was the sweetest person you’d ever met, a companion and a soother. He shone brightly for everyone he encountered. In 2006, Bubba graduated from United Township High School. He was the epitome of humility, compassion, and love. He helped at the Two Rivers YMCA after graduating from high school. There, he shared his joy of life with youngsters and met Sarah Hillman, his future wife.
Charlie gained the nickname “The Meat Man” after a decade of working at Hy-Vee Silvis. He was more than simply the guy behind the counter in this line of work; he was the “Smile in Every Aisle.” He was full of life, loved a smart quip, and never missed an opportunity to prank a friend. Every day, Charlie’s sparkling grin and contagious chuckle will be missed. Charlie treasured his family above all things. He could be spotted fishing with his children or “brothers from another mother” when he wasn’t working. He was most content since he was a parent and a hero to his Gusmano team.
His bravery, tenacity, and ability to make others laugh will be remembered. To put it another way, he made his father proud. So smile and say, “I love you,” knowing he’ll respond, “I love you even more!” His mother was Velvet J. Gusmano (MiMi) of Galesburg, IL. His family will remember him for the rest of their lives for his wonderful life. Charlie T. is survived by his father, Charlie F. Gusmano (Big Papa) of East Moline, IL; his loving partner Sarah J. Hillman of East Moline, IL; his children Lucien, Isaiah, Bryce, and Abigail; his siblings Renita Gusmano of Peoria, IL; Charlotte (George) Gusmano of Iowa City, IA; Cassandra McCullough of Bourbonnais, IL; Candice McC Charlie’s affection, like that of his mother, stretched far beyond his immediate family.
