Charles Osterkamp Obituary, Death – On November 17, 2022, firefighters from the Cedar Rapids Fire Department were sent to the 3800 block of Pine Tree Dr. NE to investigate a report that smoke was coming from the windows of a home. The smoke was reported to be coming from inside the home. The Cedar Rapids Fire Department had received a report that smoke was coming from the windows of a home prior to receiving the report that smoke was coming from the windows of the home.

The fire crews immediately began putting out the fire and searching the structure for any occupants who might have survived after they heard reports from witnesses that they had seen people inside the building.
