Charles Osterkamp Obituary, Death – On November 17, 2022, firefighters from the Cedar Rapids Fire Department were sent to the 3800 block of Pine Tree Dr. NE to investigate a report that smoke was coming from the windows of a home. The smoke was reported to be coming from inside the home. The Cedar Rapids Fire Department had received a report that smoke was coming from the windows of a home prior to receiving the report that smoke was coming from the windows of the home.
The fire crews immediately began putting out the fire and searching the structure for any occupants who might have survived after they heard reports from witnesses that they had seen people inside the building. The victims of the shooting have been identified as Charles Osterkamp, who was 72 years old, and Sheri Osterkamp, who was 70 years old.
Both of them passed away from their wounds. The marriage of Charles Osterkamp and Sheri Osterkamp was recognized by the law as valid. The medical examiner who arrived at the scene of the accident eulogized both of the victims as having passed away there and then. There was not a single other person that could be found anywhere inside the house. There was not a single other person. There was no one else present. The authorities are currently conducting an investigation into the circumstances surrounding what started the fire in order to get to the bottom of what happened.
