Chapman Luquire Obituary, Death – Chapman Luquire, who was originally from Biscoe, passed away at the First Health Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst. On July 18, 1938, in Scotland County, North Carolina, Chapman Luquire was born. His parents were Leo and Helen Luquire. After completing his high school education at Biscoe, he went on to study at North Carolina State University. The wedding took place on October 4, 1959, and Chapman wed Iris Lou Davis. They lived in several different places across North Carolina before settling back down in Biscoe to take care of their relatives. After working for Glen Raven Mills from 1971 until 1998, during which time he held the positions of Superintendent of Manufacturing and Mill Manager at the Burlington, North Carolina mill, Chapman took early retirement in 1998.

Before beginning his employment at Glen Raven, he served as a supervisor at Spring Mills in Biscoe, where he was responsible for the weaving, carding, spinning, and production planning processes. Chapman was a member of the Masonic Lodge in the 32nd Degree for 42 years. He was a member of the Bula Lodge #409 in Burlington, as well as the Scottish Rite in Greensboro and the Amran Temple of the Shrine in Raleigh. Additionally, he was an avid golfer who took pleasure in spending time at his family’s mountain property located on the Blue Ridge Parkway in Virginia. As a loving and devoted spouse of Iris for the past 55 years, he doted on her and took care of her in all aspects of daily life throughout their final years together. Serving others and caring for his family were the things that brought him the most happiness in life.

His wife Iris Luquire, his daughter Holly Luquire of Randleman, his granddaughters Kaelyn Young of Burlington and Kyndall Hill of Randleman, and his great granddaughter Kennedy Young are among those left to cherish his memories. Also left behind are Chapman’s brothers Max (and Jane) Luquire and Tommy (and Patti) Luquire, as well as Chapman’s uncle Arnold (and Delores) Hastings. Chapman Luquire’s parents, Leo and Helen, passed away before he was born.
