Carol Sieckman Obituary, Death -On November 9, 2022, Carol Sue Sieckman, who resided in Monticello but had previously called Reynolds home, passed away at the age of 88 at Monticello Healthcare. Sieckman had lived in Reynolds at one point in her life. She was born in Buffalo on February 14, 1934, and her parents were Raymond and Meva (Evernham) Read. She was the only child of her parents. She wed Robert R. Sieckman on the 10th of December in 1976 at the Monticello Christian Church. The year was 1976. It was on September 16, 2010, two days before she passed away that he passed away.
After graduating from Walton High School, she began her job as a cashier at Thrifty Mart, where she remained for 26 years. After that, she moved on to Kroger, where she worked for the final three years of her career before calling it quits. She was a member of the Reynolds United Methodist Church and served in a number of different capacities there. She was actively involved in the life of the church. She participated in the choir, the study club, and the quilting club, and in the study club she had previously held the positions of president and vice president.
Carol Sue served on multiple committees, including the pastor parish interaction committee, the nomination committee, the audit committee, and the administrative council. In addition to that, she was a trustee. She was a member of both the Honey Creek Home Economics Club and the Moose, who at one time had a lodge in Monticello. Carol Sue’s favorite sports teams included the Colts and the Cubs. She also enjoyed watching basketball. Her favorite pastimes were fishing in Minnesota, crocheting dish rags, and tending to her many floral plants. She placed the most emphasis on the time she could spend with her loved ones, especially her children.
Her two surviving children are a Pamela Haskell and a John Miller, both of whom live in Brookston. She is also survived by her stepchildren Gary Sieckman and Paulette Pryor, both of Rancine, Wisconsin, and Phoenix, Arizona; her siblings Doris Glassburn of Walton, Mary (Dick) Bixler of Rochester, and Jo Dill of Delphi; her grandchildren Ryan (Jennifer) Horn, Missy (Justin) Bender, Travis Miller, and Jon Miller; and her stepgrandchildren Kevin Sieckman, Jennifer Sieckman, and Jon Sieckman. She passed away on September.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Robert, she was predeceased by her siblings Ross and Max Read and Bonnie Rice, as well as a granddaughter named Jessica Horn. Her parents and her husband both passed away before her. At the Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home in Monticello, visitation will be held on the Saturday, November 19, 2022, beginning at 11:00 am and continuing until the time of the ceremonies at 1:00 pm.
