Cade Thompson Obituary, Death – Cade Hastings Thompson passed away on Wednesday, October 20, 2021, at the age of 18 to enter the beautiful home he had prepared for him. Cade’s life will be honored during memorial services at Big Creek Baptist Church on Saturday, October 23, 2021. The funeral services will begin at twelve o’clock in the afternoon after the visitation, which begins at 10 in the morning. Brother Andy Pittman and Brother Justin Rhodes will preside over the event. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home, a Laurel-based funeral home, will take care of the preparations. (601)649-3342 Chris and Lorrie Thompson, Cade’s adoring parents, brought him into the world on October 2, 2003. Cade now calls Soso home. He was a senior at West Jones High School and had played football for the Mustangs for the past five years.
In addition to his paternal grandmother Kathy Thompson, his maternal grandmother Ann Hastings, and a sizable number of aunts, uncles, and cousins, he is also survived by his brothers Andrew Thompson (Christine) and Ross Thompson (Lindsey), his nephews Riley and Konner, and his nieces Hadley and Marley Jane. His maternal grandmother looked after him all of his life and was a nurse. Both his paternal grandfather Ronnie Thompson and his maternal grandfather Earl Hastings passed away before he was even born. He also predeceased his great-grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Graham Leo Thompson, Mr. and Mrs. A.J. Hendry, and Mr. and Mrs. T.J. Jefcoat.
They will never stop loving Cade, and his memory will endure in their hearts. He had a laugh that was contagious, and because of the contagiousness of his laugh, everyone would laugh with him. He was ecstatic to be a member of the football team for the Mustangs, a team he closely watched, and enjoyed fishing constantly. The time he got to spend with his girlfriend Kallie Jordan’s family was also something he treasured. The pallbearers for the funeral service will be Derrick Jordan, Greg Thompson, Peter Hastings, John David Hastings, Andy Pittman, and Justin Rhodes.
The honorary coffin bearers will be the West Jones High School football team. The West Jones Touchdown Club has been asked by Cade’s family to accept memorial donations in lieu of flowers so that they can establish a scholarship fund in Cade’s honor.
