Amy Wassil Obituary, Death – On November 5th, 2022, Amy Louise Kasiorek-Wassil, who had lived her entire life in Bethel Park, Pennsylvania, and had 56 years of age under her belt, passed away and was laid to rest. Amy is survived by her husband of 31 years, Michael Wassil; their children Casey Michael Wassil, Grant Ryan Wassil, and Elena Louise Wassil; her siblings Cheryl “Shush” Brendel (Dave), Lawrence “Butch” Kasiorek (Kathy), Michael “Bubba” Kasiorek (Linda), and Mark Kasiorek (Sonja); and additional relatives, including nieces, nephews, and friends Amy has Her parents, Paul and Eleanore Kasiorek, both passed away before she was born, so she never got the chance to know them in life.

Amy’s formative years were spent in Homestead, Pennsylvania, where she currently resides. After finishing her high school education, she went on to further her education by enrolling at the University of Pittsburgh and eventually earning a nursing bachelor’s degree from that university. After that, she decided to pursue her master’s degree in health education at Penn State University, so she enrolled there. Her plan is to graduate with that degree.

She began her career as a registered nurse and worked her way up through the nursing profession, eventually becoming a health director and a program director. Her professional life began with the nursing profession. Amy was a very active member of the Girl Scouts organization and held the position of leader for not one but two separate troops and units within the organization. Her happiest times were spent hanging out at the beach and doing cross stitching, especially on Hilton Head Island.

Her favorite place to do both of these things was. Because of this, she was able to finally feel at ease. Her ancestors remarked that she was the toughest person they had ever met in their lives, and they had met many people in their time. The simple fact that they were able to know her made everyone’s lives better than they would have been otherwise. On the afternoon of Monday, November 7, 2022, between the hours of 1:00 and 3:00, as well as again in the evening between the hours of 5:00 and 7:00, the Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home will open its doors to welcome friends and family members.
