Alfred Trottier Obituary, Death -On Tuesday, October 25, 2022, Alfred Trottier, 74, of Belcourt, North Dakota, died peacefully at home. Alfred Gerald Trottier was born on July 26, 1948 in Belcourt, North Dakota to Martin and Dorothy (Wilkie) Trottier. He was raised in Belcourt and completed his education there as well. On May 10, 1984, Alfred married Delores “Helen” Wallette, and they will renew their vows on May 10, 2021. His children were Darrick, Jake, Billie Jo, Jordan, Kazia, Lynette, Wendy, and Shawn. Alfred worked as a heavy equipment operator and cook for Headstart in Belcourt for many years.

He loved being outside, going for walks and fishing, and he was a talented diamond willow carver and trading card collector. Alfred and Helen loved to travel, and they made an annual trip from Belcourt to Washington. He enjoyed bingo and gambling, but his favorite pastime was spending time with his adoring wife, family, and friends. He also adored his dogs, who were always by his side: Bambi, Daisy, Tubby, Tine Tine, Tiny Girl, Houdini, and Big Dog. Over the course of their last two years together, Alfred and his family completed his “Bucket List,” bringing him great peace and happiness. He will be fondly remembered and sorely missed.

Alfred is survived by his wife, Delores “Helen” Trottier of Belcourt; children, Darrick (Crystal) Trottier of Belcourt, Jake (Christine) Trottier of Belcourt, Jordan (Autumn) Trottier of Bottineau, and Kazia Trottier of Sommerset, PA; and grandchildren. Darrick (Crystal) Trottier of Belcourt, Jordan Trottier of Bottineau, Jordan (Lynette Smith of Devils Lake, Wendy (Robbie) Mock of Oberon, and Shawn Trottier of Oberon; 21 grandchildren, Bruce Wallette, Kendal Poitra, McKina Poitra, Alex Smith, Elektra Chadwick, Levi St. Germaine, Devin Smith, John Smith, Shay St. Germaine, Brianna

Alfred’s parents, Martin and Dorothy Trottier, his daughter, Billie Jo Wallette, his son-in-law, John Smith, his brothers, Edward Wilkie and Joseph Trottier, and his sister, Mary Trottier, all predeceased him.
Casket bearers are Darrick Trottier, Jake Trottier, Jordan Trottier, Levi St. Germaine, Devin Smith, and Kyle LaFontaine.
A visitation will begin at 6:30 PM on Sunday, October 30, 2022, at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Belcourt, ND, followed by a Rosary Service at 7:00 PM. The funeral Mass will be held at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Belcourt, North Dakota, on Monday, October 31, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. Burial will take place at a later date.
