Albert Leslie Obituary, Death – Albert Scott Leslie, also known as Al to most people and Papa Al to his family, died at the age of 82 on Monday, November 14, 2022. He was a Palo Verde, Arizona resident. On November 1, 1940, Charles and Carol Leslie welcomed their son Albert into the world in Tulare, California. Al’s family eventually settled in Arizona, where he spent the majority of his life.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra Leslie, his daughter Joyclyn White and her husband George White, his daughter Deborah McDonald and her husband Lou McDonald, his son-in-law Mark Penny, his daughter Kelli Aja and her husband Roy Aja, his daughter Katherine DuPont, his daughter Kristine Palmisano and her spouse Chris Milner, his son Kiley Sanders and his spouse Daniel Girard, and a large number of devoted grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Dorothy Leslie, his daughter Patricia Penny, brother Tom Leslie, and grandson Phillip Aja all died before him. All of them predeceased him. Al will be remembered for the many ways he served others and his community. Al was skilled in a variety of trades, including carpentry, construction, and mechanics, and he enjoyed generously sharing his talents with his family, friends, and community. Through his membership in the Scottish Rite of Freemasonry and the Phoenix ATV/UTV Club, he was able to satisfy his servant’s heart and benevolent nature. Al was never one to sit still, and his eagerness to serve inspired many.
Funeral services will be held at the Louis B. Hazelton Cemetery, 23100 W Broadway Rd, Buckeye, Arizona, on Saturday, December 3, 2022, at 11 a.m. The family requests that memorial contributions be made in Albert Scott Leslie’s name to the Ivy Brain Tumor Center or Hospice of The Valley in lieu of flowers. The assistance that these two organizations provided to Al gives them a special meaning for Al’s family, and we hope that others will benefit from the work that they do.
